How company reviews are prepared

Reviews describe services, public information and available customer accounts. Inclusion in the directory, card order and article length are not reliability ratings.

Scope of a review

  • The identity used by the company and the services it advertises.
  • The countries, procedures and customer groups described in its material.
  • Terms, contact details, prices and timeframes available in the sources.
  • Circumstances described in customer accounts and whether the originals can be consulted.

Different kinds of evidence

Official requirements, company statements, registry documents and personal accounts answer different questions. Describing an advertised service does not establish delivery. Registration does not guarantee the quality of every service.

Meaning of verification

A verification claim should identify the action actually performed, such as comparing details against a registry entry on a stated date. Viewing a website does not amount to checking contracts, staff or outcomes.

A review must not imply that a test purchase, company enquiry or document assessment took place if it did not. Assessments need an explained basis. Missing information establishes neither reliability nor wrongdoing.

Customer accounts, prices and timeframes

A customer account concerns the experience described by its author, not the company’s entire operation. Prices and timeframes relate to their stated sources and period. A provider’s service timeframe must be distinguished from a public authority’s decision timeframe.

Company responses

A representative may submit a clarification, documentary source or objection identifying the company, page and disputed statement. A relevant response can be included with attribution. Receiving a complaint does not itself require removal of supported information.

Limitations

A review does not assess an individual contract or guarantee a visa, status or citizenship outcome. Sources and research limitations should be identified in the review itself.
