Immigration law statements may depend on the country, date and applicant’s circumstances. This page explains expert involvement and the meaning of a review credit. It does not imply that every published article has already received legal review.
Contributor roles
The author prepares the article and selects sources. The editor assesses structure, clarity and editorial standards. A lawyer assesses legal statements within an agreed scope. An editorial credit does not replace legal assessment.
Scope of expertise
Irina Akhmetova’s profile describes her professional experience and links to supporting sources. Her involvement concerns Portuguese law and immigration matters in Portugal within a specific assignment. Such review must not automatically be extended to other countries or every article on the website.

What an assignment should cover
- The specific statements and sections included.
- The applicant categories and procedures described.
- The legislation and official instructions applicable on the review date.
- Limitations, uncertainty and changes that need explaining to readers.
When an expert credit may appear
A “Legal review” credit should appear only after the expert has actually assessed the relevant material and confirmed the final wording. It should state the review date and, if only part of the article was assessed, the scope. Hosting an expert profile does not authorise attributing every article to that expert.
Updates and further review
A page modification date may reflect a technical change. It does not replace the legal review date. Material changes to legal statements after review require further approval; an old credit must not imply endorsement of new wording.
Limitations
Reviewing an article does not create a lawyer–client relationship with its readers or guarantee a visa, status or citizenship outcome. Individual circumstances need separate assessment. To raise a disputed legal statement, identify the page, passage, country and official source.
