A company mentioned in a review may submit a response, clarification or error report. Enquiries should be considered on the merits of the statements and supporting sources. A positive or negative tone alone does not determine the outcome.
What to send
- The company name and publication link.
- Your name, role and a public way to confirm authority, such as a company-domain address or an official team page.
- The exact disputed passage and proposed clarification.
- Public documentary links, dates and context supporting the response.
Suggested subject: “Company response — company name — publication address”. An initial enquiry does not require a passport, full customer contracts or payment credentials. Remove personal information from supporting documents before sending them.
Possible changes to a review
A substantiated factual error should be corrected under the corrections policy. A company position may be published as an attributed company response. Where a dispute remains unresolved, the customer’s account, the representative’s reply and established facts should remain distinguishable.
A response should not become advertising. Editing for length should preserve meaning; substantive rewording requires clarification with the sender. Receiving an enquiry does not automatically require removing a review or accepting every company demand.
Privacy and limitations
Do not disclose a customer’s or third party’s private information to challenge an account. A service dispute is not resolved solely by a letter from one party. Publishing a company response does not mean the editorial team endorses every statement in it.
Timing and contact
No fixed response deadline is promised. Identify a material error in the subject line and provide accessible supporting evidence. This process does not replace legal remedies.
